Horsham District Council are the determining authority for planning in the district. Rudgwick Parish Council is a statutory consultee which means Horsham District Council must inform the parish council of any planning applications made within the Parish. Councillors from Rudgwick Parish Council visit all applications and at each planning meeting make recommendations which are taken into consideration when Horsham District Council make their decision.
Planning Committee meetings are open to members of the public. Members of the public may only participate in discussions if invited to do so by the Chairman of the committee. Because of strict planning timelines, occasionally planning applications will not be discussed in a meeting. In that case, Councillors will discuss under 'delegated' powers and submit a response accordingly. If you have submitted a planning application to Horsham District Council and you wish to put your comments to Rudgwick Parish Council then you must do so in writing to the Clerk at the earliest opportunity.
Members of the public may also make representation to Horsham District Council directly. You can view planning applications on the website of Horsham District Council here. The planning committee meets when required. See here for a list of council meetings.
